Dalitz Returns to Form at Murray Bridge

Jarman Dalitz managed to have a strong night when he competed at Murray Bridge Speedway last Saturday night, January 21. After being announced as one of the participants of the Speedway Australia Rising Star Program earlier in the week, Dalitz was hoping to score a strong result to prove he was worthy of his inclusion.

Starting from 10th position in the opening heat, Dalitz managed to avoid a number of incidents and make some well planned passes to finish the heat in 2nd place.

Starting from pole position in the 2nd heat, Dalitz led from start to finish, claiming pole position for the 15 lap feature race.

Dalitz managed to get the jump on both attempts to start the race, before a hard fought battle between himself and Daniel Obst for the lead. After dropping back to 2nd position, Dalitz was later passed by eventual winner Mikayla Hein at mid race distance. Jarman crossed the finish line right behind the leaders to finish on the final podium position.

“I was able to draw a lot of positives from tonight’s meeting,” Dalitz said. “We proved we can make up a lot of positions in our heat races which will be an important part of the upcoming State and National titles. We also have good car speed in the feature races which will only get better as we make some final changes before the Australian Title. All the pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together at the right time and it’s looking very promising.”

Dalitz will be in action next at Remark’s Riverland Speedway for the 2nd round of the Oval Track Imports Wingless Sprint Series on the 4th of February. Due to the short turnaround time between Renmark’s event and the Australian Title in Sydney, Dalitz will be using Tim McAvaney’s car for the event to minimize any risk of damage to his usual car.

Dalitz and the Itz Racing team would like to thank the following sponsor for their valued support of the team. Jarman Dalitz Selected As 2012 Speedway Australia Rising Star

Young South Australian Wingless Sprint driver, Jarman Dalitz, has been selected to participate in the 2012 Speedway Australia Rising Star Program.

Jarman hails from Murray Bridge in South Australia, and at 18 years of age has been involved in motorsport for 13 years.  After spending 9 successful years on bitumen in go-karts, Jarman made the move to Speedway in 2009 when he stepped into a Wingless Sprintcar.

After a season of adjusting to the new style of racing, Jarman’s results began to improve every race meeting.  In 2010/11, the Rising Star captured his first feature race victory and posted impressive series results, finishing 2nd in the Wingless Sprint Easter Trail and the Murray Bridge Track Championship as well as a 3rd place in the Oval Track Imports Wingless Sprint Series.

Jarman has regularly posted podium finishes during the 2011/12 season, currently placing 6th in the Speedway City Track Championship and 4th in the Oval Track Imports Wingless Sprint Series.

Jarman’s aim in Speedway is to earn a drive in the Sprintcar category, and he hopes to use what he learns during the 2012 Speedway Australia Rising Star Program to help realise that dream.

“I believe the Rising Star Program offers the best platform for young drivers to make a move into racing Sprintcars in the future,” said Jarman.

“I hope to use the program to help me improve my promotional skills, my fitness and nutrition, and ensure I am performing to the best of my abilities.”

Participants in the 2012 Rising Star Program will travel to the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra during the first half of the year for an intensive 3 day camp with Australia’s best sporting trainers and experts.

Stay tuned to speedwayaustralia.com.au over the coming weeks as the 2012 Speedway Australia Rising Stars are introduced.  You can also stay up to date on all of the drivers’ latest results and updates at the brand new, dedicated Rising Stars Facebook page via https://www.facebook.com/speedwayrisingstars.

Last Minute Addition Gives Dalitz Valuable Running Time

After the Wingless Sprints were a last minute addition to the schedule, Jarman Dalitz competed in a day show at Murray Bridge Speedway on the 8th of January, after the meeting scheduled at Speedway City on the 7th was rained out. The meeting was the first with new crew chief Bing Goonan.

After been drawn to start from pole position, Dalitz took the lead at the start. From that point on, Dalitz was unchallenged on his way to victory in the opening heat.

Starting from 8th in the second heat race Jarman managed to finish in 6th place but struggled to find a rhythm with the car.

The results from the two races saw Dalitz start the feature from 4th position. A bad start saw Dalitz drop to 5th place behind Joel Chadwick. Dalitz managed to make his way back past Chadwick into 4th and set his sights on the car ahead. A number of yellow lights helped bunch up the field and give Dalitz an opportunity to capture a podium but he was unable to make a pass.

“We were able to make some solid progress towards making the car faster,” Dalitz said. “The heat win gave me some confidence back and i think the final result was not a true indication of where are at. With a few more subtle changes we should be right at the pointy end of the field and challenging for feature race victories.”

Dalitz will be in action again at Murray Bridge Speedway on the 21st of January.

Disastrous Night for Dalitz at Speedway City

Jarman Dalitz had a night to forget when he competed at Speedway City on the 26th of December in a wingless sprint as a support class to the World Series Sprintcars. The Wingless Sprints competed in a unique format where two features were scheduled over 15 laps. The order for these features was determined by a random draw, with the winner being decided by the points accumulated during the night.

Starting from 14th position for the opening feature, Dalitz had to contend with a sticking throttle which caused him problems in the race. While most drivers were on the bottom of the track, Dalitz used to high line to move up to 8th place. Just after moving into 8th place, Dalitz spun which dropped him to the rear of the 15 car field. Dalitz did manage to finish in 12th position.

The 2nd feature race saw Dalitz start from 3rd position. Dalitz struggled with the car and was off the pace for the duration of the feature. After fighting hard to keep his position, Dalitz dropped back to 5th place where he finished the feature.

Overall, Dalitz finished in a tie with Joel Chadwick for 8th place with 310 points.

Dalitz will be competing next at Speedway City on the 7th of January in the 5th round of the Track Championship.

Up and Down Night for Dalitz at Murray Bridge

Jarman Dalitz had a night of mixed fortunes when he competed at Murray Bridge Speedway on the 10th of December, but managed to come away from the meeting unscathed and with a respectable result.

After an early spin on the opening corner of the first heat that brought out a caution, Dalitz restarted the race in pole position and took the lead into the opening turn. From that point on, Dalitz was in control of the race and took the victory.

Starting from the rear of the grid in the 2nd heat, Dalitz struggled to gain positions on a track where passing was difficult. After keeping clean, Dalitz managed to cross the line in 6th position after a number of incidents helped him improve his position.

The two heat results secured Dalitz an outside front row starting position for the feature. Dalitz dropped into 2nd place at the start. He was then overtaken by Todd Wigzell in the opening laps of the race before spinning. The race was then red flagged after team mate Robert Heard flipped into the catch fence trying to avoid the incident. Starting from the rear of the field. Dalitz managed to find his way back into 4th position before dropping back to 5th place at the end of the race.

“We were able to start our night very strongly which gave us a good starting position for the feature.” Dalitz said, “Unfortunately we didn’t have the best car in the feature and I made a mistake which dropped me to the rear. However, I was able to push on after the stoppage and salvage a reasonable finishing position.”

Dalitz will be competing next at Speedway City on Boxing Day when the Wingless Sprints race as a support class to the World Series Sprintcars.

Dalitz Reaches New Heights at Speedway City

What looked to be a strong night for Jarman Dalitz, turned into one he’d rather forget when he competed in the 3rd round of the Speedway City Track Championship last Saturday night, the 3rd of December.

Starting from pole position, Dalitz manage to take the lead in the opening laps. The choice to race with a badly worn right rear tyre meant Dalitz was unable to gain the traction and grip needed and he dropped back to 2nd place after being overtaken by Cody Atkins.

With a change of right rear tyre between the 2 heats, Dalitz charged from the rear of the grid to take a fine 4th place finish and set himself up for a 3rd place starting position for the meetings 20 lap feature race.

A good start saw Dalitz battle side by side with Atkins for 3rd place in the opening laps. Dalitz had to drop behind Atkins but moved back to 3rd place after Joel Chadwick spun to bring out the Yellow lights. After the restart, Dalitz struggled to maintain the pace and dropped back to 5th place. Another yellow light managed to bunch the field up and on the restart Dalitz managed to drive around Mikayla Hein for 4th place. Dalitz was following behind Shannon Barry and closing in to reclaim a podium position before he spun and was sent to the rear of the 14 car field.

Dalitz was able to move up a position before 2 cars spun ahead of him. With nowhere to go Dalitz spun into the side of team mate Robert Heard and was sent by another car into a rollover before landing on his wheels. With his race over, Dalitz was able to climb out of the car without any injuries.

“It was unfortunate that our night ended in the fashion it did,” Dalitz said. “We were running well until I had spun and it was possible that we could have been on the podium. As a result of the spin we were at the back of the field and when you are back there incidents like these can happen.”

The team will be hoping to have their car ready in time for this Saturday night’s meeting at Murray Bridge Speedway on the 10th of December.

Dalitz and the Itz Racing team would like to thank their valuable sponsors, Speedway Performance Parts, Murray Bridge Glass, Fuchs Lubricants, Auto Pro – Murray Bridge, Adelaide Kart Supplies, Winning Wings, Bridge Bearings and Bolts, Brutforce Powder Coating, Lower Murray Grit Blasting, KNJ Photography, Pizza Supremo – Murray Bridge, All Sweets and Treats – Victor Harbor, Oz Signs – Murray Bridge and Wise Crash Repairs – Murray Bridge.

Missed Opportunity for Dalitz at Whyalla

Jarman Dalitz missed out on a golden opportunity when he competed in the opening round of the Oval Track Imports Southern Shootout Series last Saturday night, November 12 at Whyalla’s Westline Speedway.

Starting from 5th position in his opening heat, Dalitz showed a lot of speed during the race working his way up to 2nd place on a one lane track and narrowly missing out on the heat race win in a photo finish.

Dalitz lined up in 2nd position for his 2nd heat race and a strong result would have seen him a highest point scorer heading into the dash and feature race. Unfortunately Dalitz made a mistake on the opening turn of the race, washing up high and dropping to 5th place. This was where Dalitz remained for the rest of the and now he was in a tie for 4th position on points.

Dalitz started the dash for the top 6 scoring cars in 5th place and managed to gain 1 position on his way to securing his 4th place starting position for the 20 lap feature race.

Dalitz was able to slot into 4th place at the start of the feature and spent majority of the race attempting to find his way onto the podium position. With a couple of laps remaining, Dalitz encountered a handling issue which forced him to drop back and settle for 4th place.

“The car showed plenty of pace tonight but we were unable to turn this into a strong result,” Dalitz commented. “We were able to charge through the field in the opening heat, but unfortunately a small mistake took us out of contention for the feature win and left us stuck behind slower cars for the rest of the night.”

With no Wingless Sprint racing scheduled in South Australia until December 3, Jarman Dalitz will take the opportunity to have short break from racing before he competes again in December at Speedway City.

Dalitz and the Itz Racing team would like to thank their valuable sponsors, Speedway Performance Parts, Murray Bridge Glass, Fuchs Lubricants, Auto Pro – Murray Bridge, Adelaide Kart Supplies, Winning Wings, Bridge Bearings and Bolts, Brutforce Powder Coating, Lower Murray Grit Blasting, KNJ Photography, Pizza Supremo – Murray Bridge, All Sweets and Treats – Victor Harbor, Oz Signs – Murray Bridge and Wise Crash Repairs – Murray Bridge.

Dalitz Takes 2nd Podium for the Season at Speedway City

Jarman Dalitz continued his consistent run of good results last Saturday night, November 5, when he competed in the 2nd round of the Speedway City Track Championship.

Starting from pole position in the opening heat, Dalitz was able to gain the lead from the start and was able to control the race. Dalitz survived a number of cautions which bunched up the field with some good restarts and take win.

The 2nd heat saw Dalitz lose a position earlier in the race after starting 8th when he spent too long on the wrong line. Dalitz was able to pass 2 other cars on his way to 7th position.

Dalitz started the feature from 4th place and on the start he was able to hold his position. A restart caused by an incident involving 3 cars meant the field had to be reformed for a complete restart. The restart saw Dalitz stay in 4th position in the opening corner. A mistake from Andy Thomas allowed Dalitz slip underneath him into turn 3.

Dalitz then chased down Joel Chadwick for 2nd position.  After catching up to Chadwick, Dalitz had an opportunity to move into 2nd place but was unable to make the pass. After that, Dalitz’s car started to lose its pace with Dalitz falling back. The closing stages became a struggle for Dalitz to fend off the cars behind him; however he was able to hold on for a 3rd place finish.

“I feel we are starting to make some progress now towards having a very competitive car.” Dalitz commented. “We still need to work a little harder on making sure we have strong car the whole race and this help take us further up the field.”

After 4 weeks of racing at Murray Bridge and Speedway City, Dalitz and the Itz Racing team will be making the trek to Whyalla’s Westline Speedway to compete in the opening round of the Oval Track Imports Southern Shootout Series this Saturday, November 12.

Dalitz and the Itz Racing team would like to thank their valuable sponsors, Speedway Performance Parts, Murray Bridge Glass, Fuchs Lubricants, Auto Pro – Murray Bridge, Adelaide Kart Supplies, Winning Wings, Bridge Bearings and Bolts, Brutforce Powder Coating, Lower Murray Grit Blasting, KNJ Photography, Pizza Supremo – Murray Bridge, All Sweets and Treats – Victor Harbor, Oz Signs – Murray Bridge and Wise Crash Repairs – Murray Bridge.

Dalitz Misses Out on Podium at Speedway City

Jarman Dalitz missed out on a podium position when he competed in the opening round of the Speedway City Track Championship last Saturday October 29th.

Dalitz managed to get a good start from 8th place in the opening heat and quickly moved into 6th place. Passes on both Mikayla Hein and Brett Bartley helped Dalitz move into 5th place by the end of the race.

Dalitz’s 2nd heat saw him start the race from pole position. Dalitz got off to a great start and was comfortably leading in the tricky conditions when the yellow light came on for a spin in turns 3 and 4. With the cars bunched up for the restart, Jarman put his best effort in to hold off his competitors on the final laps and take the heat win.

Starting from 5th position for the 15 lap feature, Dalitz dropped back to 6th place behind Andy Thomas after a bad start. However, in the opening laps Dalitz was able to move back into 5th place by overtaking Greg Cunningham on the outside. At one stage in the race, Dalitz looked like he could have caught up to the group in front of him, but his speed then dropped off midway through the race. Dalitz was able to move up to 4th position late in the race when Todd Wigzell spun ahead of him. From there Jarman was able to hold on to a solid 4th place finish.

“It was a difficult night for us where we continued to refine the cars setup,” Dalitz commented. “We were able to come away with a good result and we will now continue to work on improving in the coming weeks before the break.”

Dalitz will return to Speedway City this Saturday night for the 2nd round of the Wingless Sprint Track Championship on the 5th of November.

Dalitz Salvages Podium at Murray Bridge

Luck was with Jarman Dalitz at Murray Bridge Speedway last Saturday night, October 22, as he managed to claim a podium position after what looked like being a dreadful night.

The opening heat of the night started well for Jarman, quickly gaining positions in the opening laps. However on the first restart after a yellow light for the spun car of Troy Small, Dalitz began to suffer mechanical problems. Although these problems hampered Dalitz, he managed to limp home in 8th place.

The team worked hard between heats to rectify the problem. Unfortunately for Jarman the problem was not solved and it became worse meaning Dalitz was unable to begin the 2nd heat.

The crew on Dalitz’s car went back to work following the 2nd heat. The team searched desperately to locate the problem. With only a short time until the feature began the team discovered there was a problem with both the fuel filter and subsequently a issue with the computer box.

Dalitz only just managed to reach the track and take up his spot of 11th place in the field. Encouraged by his troubled night, Dalitz sought to quickly move through the field in the opening laps. Dalitz was gifted 4 extra spots when he narrowly avoided a 4-car pileup around him. The original crash moved him into 4th place, however the car ahead of him failed to start, elevating Dalitz to a podium position.

From there on Jarman was able to hold his position on the restart. Unfortunately, as a result of the time spent trying to get the car running, the team was unable to work on a setup for the feature which affected the cars performance. Dalitz still managed to put in a great effort to try and keep up with the 2 cars ahead of him and cross the line in 3rd place.

“Tonight we were very lucky to even be racing in the feature let alone come away with a podium.” Dalitz said. “I managed to put myself in the right position on the track which luckily helped me avoid the accident at turn 1 earlier on in the race. Unfortunately the car wasn’t set up right for the conditions and that stopped me from making a challenge to the 2 cars in front, but we are pleased to leave tonight with a podium result.”

Dalitz will race his next meeting this Saturday Night, October 29, at Speedway City, Virginia for their Opening Night race meeting.

Jarman Dalitz and the Itz Racing team would like to thank their sponsors, Speedway Performance Parts, Murray Bridge Glass, Fuchs Lubricants, Auto Pro – Murray Bridge, Adelaide Kart Supplies, Winning Wings, Bridge Bearings and Bolts, Brutforce Powder Coating, Lower Murray Grit Blasting, KNJ Photography, Pizza Supremo – Murray Bridge, All Sweets and Treats – Victor Harbor and Wise Crash Repairs – Murray Bridge.
