Jarman Dalitz had continued his transition from Bitumen Go-Karting to Speedway racing on Saturday night (February 6) at Speedway City. Driving the SA 15 Eagle, Jarman was to start both his heats from the rear of the 13 car field.
In the first heat, Jarman put was able to hold his own with the rest of the field and even moved up a position in a very fast race. Jarman finished 12th in the yellow flag free event.
In heat 2 Jarman decided to try a few different things with his driving and it paid off, with Jarman’s speed increasing and now Jarman was all over the few drivers at the back of the field searching for a way to get past. An incident between a few of the front runners where 1 car had spun and caused a chain reaction brought out the first yellow flag to bunch the field up. Jarman was now in 5th position. Jarman was able to go with the pack right from the green light and was looking to move into 4th spot on the final lap when a car behind him had spun causing another collision. The race officials decided to declare the race and Jarman was credited with 5th position.
After the 2 heats Jarman was to start from 8th for the feature. Jarman tried to drive on the outside but was unable to. After moving to the low side of the track Jarman soon found the speed he had in the second heat and was looking to move up the field before the yellow light came out bunching the field up again. During the caution Jarman developed a problem and soon the car was steering left towards the infield. After being pushed further into the infield to a safe are Jarman had discovered the front left brake disc had broke, jamming inside the calliper causing Jarman’s night to end early.

On the 27th of December the 5th round of the World Series Sprintcars was held at Murray Bridge Speedway. Jarman Dalitz raced in this series in a support class — the Wingless Sprintcar invitational.
Jarman was drawn to start both of his heats from the rear of the 17 car field. In the 1st heat Jarman had trouble, as a beginner in this discipline, getting past a few cars. Jarman decided to try to go around the outside of Cody Atkins, but soon found out that there was not enough room to pass.
Consequently, Jarman ended up running into the back of Cody and their cars got stuck together, requiring a yellow flag. Jarman rejoined the race at the back of the field, and kept pace well with the pack, finishing 14th thanks to 2 DNFs.
The 2nd heat was run between the B and A Main’s of the World Series Sprintcars. Jarman was again starting from last. This time around there was enough space for Jarman to get around Cody. Jarman then set about trying to keep up with the pack. Jarman felt more confident in the 2nd heat and was able to push the car a lot harder. Jarman finished 11th in the 2nd heat.
Due to an order which stated that racing at Murray Bridge events must finish by 11pm, the Feature for the Wingless Sprints was cancelled.

Jarman Dalitz made his speedway debut on the 12th of December at the Murray Bridge Speedway. Jarman was driving Tim McAvaney’s SA 15 Wingless Sprintcar for the night. Being a newcomer to the sport, Jarman had to start all of his races from the rear of the field. However there were 5 other competitors who had to do the same thing in a 17 car field.
Jarman spent the opening 2 heats cruising around getting a feel for what he could do and he made the finish line in both of his 8 lap heats, with more experienced drivers watching the racing from the infield. Those 2 heats were not without their moments though, as it took 3 attempts to get the 2nd heat running with a spin by a driver in the first attempt and a crash between a few drivers in the 2nd attempt which Jarman avoided by going to the outside of the spun car just as other cars were cashing into him. Jarman had a scary moment when the racing finally got underway, going to hot into the first turn with the car sliding towards the concrete fence. Jarman only just managed to pull the car up, millimetres before hitting the wall before setting off again. In both heats Jarman was unfortunately lapped.
After everyone had run their 2 heats Jarman meant to start from the 11th grid position out of the 16 cars that were left for the feature, this meant Jarman scored the highest points out of everyone that had to start from the rear and there is every possibility that Jarman could have been starting further up the grid if he was able to start with the main pack. Jarman got off to a good start in the 15-lap feature and moved up to 9th place. When the yellows came out for a spin by Rory Burton, Jarman moved up to 8th as Rory had to restart at the rear. Rory managed to work his way through the field and went flying past. Jarman had a half spin when the car behind him made contact with the rear of his car, but Jarman managed to hold his position until the next yellow. Just after the 2nd yellow, Jarman was passed and dropped back to 10th with 1 lap remaining the yellows came out again with the laps being reset to 2 laps to go. Jarman was able to keep the other cars behind him for the 2 laps, but he was still looking to make up some positions, trying to find a way past the 2 battling cars. Jarman crossed the line in 10th place on the same lap as the leaders.

Last sunday (December13), the christmas meeting endurance race at the Monarto Karting Complex was to be Jarman Dalitz’s last Go-Kart race before his move to speedway and it proved to be a very interesting event. Jarman paired up with Brandon Stillwell for the event.
Brandon started the race and came into the pits in 6th position at the first pit stop window. Jarman then jumped in the kart and started off his first stint for the race. 4 laps into his stint, Jarman started to experience popping in the Rotax engine he was driving. Jarman was still able to make up positions throughout the slower sections of the track before being swamped again by all those karts down the main straight. Just before the 2nd scheduled pit stop Jarman dropped a chain of the kart, causing the safety kart to come out.
After changing a fuel pump at the next stop, Brandon then jumped into the kart for his final stint. Brandon was then forced to the infield as well when the pulse line was left of the kart. Brandon was still experiencing the same problems as Jarman had experience in his earlier stint. Well out of the race by the time Jarman was about to jump in the kart for his final stint, Jarman and Brandon’s pit crew decided to make a change to the kart to fix the problem.
Jarman then went out for the final part of the race and cruised around at the start of the stint. Jarman was then accidentally tagged by another kart and spun to the outside of the track. Jarman then pushed for a few laps before the safety kart came out again directly in front of Jarman. Because Jarman was well out of the race, he then pulled over on the restart to catch up with the driver who had pushed him off the track earlier. Jarman then pulled alongside the driver and pushed him off the track. After the race, both drivers had a good laugh about the events that had transpired earlier during the race.
The full results of the race are not known at the moment, but will be posted on the website as they are made available

Jarman Dalitz will be using all of his racing experience to master both dirt and bitumen surfaces this weekend (12-13 December). Jarman will team up with Brandon Stillwell for this Weekend’s Christmas meeting enduro at the Monarto Karting Complex. He will be driving Brandon’s 125 cc kart – a kart that he used on his way to winning this year’s Rotax Light Festival State Cup championship.
Teaming up with the Brandon, who is a year Jarman’s senior, Jarman will move up to the Senior’s classes to compete in this event. Jarman couldn’t have picked a more difficult meeting to make his Senior debut, with this year’s Australian Formula Ford Champion, Nick Percat also entering the race.
The enduro format has been revived this year after not being run for 5 years. The former enduro used to be run over 100 laps with all senior classes involved and handicaps for the slower classes. This weekend the enduro will be run over one and a half hours with each team having to make 3×5 minute pit stops at a pre determined time.

Jarman Dalitz will be making his debut in Tim McAvaney’s SA15 Eagle wingless Sprintcar at Murray Bridge Speedway this Saturday (December 12). Jarman successfully tested this car at a practise day in September this year. He is hoping to have a strong meeting whilst still coming to grips with the change from bitumen to dirt racing surface. “Hopefully I can get to the chequered flag in all of the races. It would be a great night if I could manage to keep up with the pack and maybe even pass a couple of cars.” Jarman will be well supported through his fans and admirers that have always supported the successful, excitable young driver throughout his career to date. Some of Jarman’s Supporters are going to try and gather all Jarman’s fans and sit on the Turn 1 hill near the bar to cheer Jarman on as he makes his debut.
About Wingless Sprintcars
Wingless Sprintcars are a relatively new class to the speedway ranks. The class uses a normal Sprintcar chassis without the Front and Rear wings and a Holden V6 motor. The cars use tyres the sprintcars uses, but they last a lot longer as there is less power coming from a wingless Sprintcar than a full blown Sprintcar.

Jarman’s hopes of a state title success were crushed last weekend at the 2009 South Australian Open State Championships, hosted by the Barossa Go-Kart Club at the Bolivar Raceway. The going was always going to be tough for Jarman, especially with drivers like Chris Hays, Matthew Hart, Joseph Mawson, Lucas Ward and Jarrod Egan returning to defend his state title success of the previous year as well as local drivers Todd Hazelwood and Simon Hodge.
Jarman had a disappointing qualifying run in the first session, only posting the 17th fastest time, lapping the circuit in 36.719 seconds. With the wind picking up the track only got worse and it was impossible for Jarman to improve in the 2nd session on his earlier qualifying effort only managing a 37.094 second lap time.
The 1st heat was a wet race and knowing that finishing in the wet is half the battle, Jarman chose to play it safe and make sure he greeted the chequered flag. Jarman managed to make the most of everyone else’s mistakes and passed a few karts on his way to 12th place.
Jarman had a poor start in the 2nd heat but still managed to make up a position by the end of the 2nd lap. Jarman was then turned around at the Wakefield turn ending his race immediately.
After the 12th place and a Did Not Finish result in the 2 heats, Jarman was in 18th position for the pre-final. Jarman managed to grab a handful of places in the 1st few corners using the outside of the track well. Jarman was then involved in a bit of wheel banging and came of 2nd best dropping him to the back of the field. Jarman then fought back to place a respectable 17th giving him an inside start for the final. However, throughout the pre-final Jarman was suffering with a bad vibration from his kart. Upon closer inspection it was found that the steering arm joints were badly worn, causing the vibration
A couple of changes had been made overnight to the kart and the kart was rocket off the start. Jarman was starting to make progress and set himself up for the rest of the race when there was an incident in front of him. Jarman was driving around the incident when he was hit from behind ending his race.
